Sometimes the shadows surround Jack.
All the people he has loved crowd around him, pawing at his clothes, demanding his attention. They all want to know why he left, why he couldn’t stay, why, why?
He has no answers to give them. He can only say is that it is not his destiny to love and be happy.
He finds pleasure in snatched moments but cannot afford to make a connection. To do so would be to lose a part of himself.
He needs to stay whole, intact, so that when he is needed, he’s ready. You gotta be ready.
