Home was Lisa- being curled together, planning their future in the warmth of wrinkled covers and the folds of a crinkled Times.
Ripped apart it became just a space, a routine- the must of yellowed paper and the tang of bleach -the exotic and mundane blended together over endless cups of coffee.
Slowly, methodically, home has become the brine of the underground, the echoes of laughter, the constant shake of adrenaline and the bone-deep ache at the end of the day. It’s his body pushing against and around me.
Home is him and it inexplicably tangled and holding me together.
