I've been on a Tezuka kick lately. I just found out about Jetter Mars, and it amuses the heck out of me for some reason. Basically, Osamu Tezuka was in a rough financial state in the 70s and wanted to bounce back with a new Astro Boy series with Toho. Unfortunately, most of the characters were in legal limbo and couldn't be used for the time being. So, Tezuka made this series that was a thinly-veiled Astro Boy remake with slightly different characters, plus the characters that he DID have the rights to like Mr Mustachio and Hamegg. I don't know why I find this so fascinating, but I do.
