Create 10 pts worth of alternate graphics from the ones you've already created, and change the music genre it originally represented. So take your pop icon and make it classical or rock, etc. Please label your alternates accordingly.
Again--for clarity. Let's say you made 15 icons for the challenge's 30 points. For the badge, you will take 5 of your icons, and change the genre they represent. You are NOT finding new screencaps to make NEW graphics. You are making alternates of the ones you already created.
If you did a 30 image picspam, take 10 of those images and change the genre for the badge.
Video makers can add 1 minute of video or simply make 10 pts of graphics.
+10 points // What are Merit Badges?
• For this challenge you will be creating 30 points of tv graphics inspired by the follow 3 genres of music: Pop, Rock, and Classical. Use the music, style, lyrics, words, visuals, music videos, and/or icons to inform the style and/or subject matter of your graphics.
• You can do all your graphics in one genre or mix it up. It's up to you. Just make sure you label or let us know which graphics represent which genre.
• I've provided resources below to get you started but you are in no way limited to them. And I'm no expert in any genre so I'm sure there are plenty of songs/artists out there that I missed. If you interpret the genre's differently than me, that's fine.
• Don't let these styles limit you. Just because you do something in the Pop genre doesn't necessarily mean your icon has to be pink and crazy. But it may influence which characters you choose to icon--maybe you'll use the happier bubblier character like Kaylee of Firefly vs. the darker Malcolm Reynolds. Or maybe you'll make a Pop inspired icon of Mal and create a more vibrant, colorful icon of him.
• Graphics Points (30 pts possible):
--Icons: 2 pts
--Picspams: 1pt per edited image in picspam
--Gifs: 2 pts per gif
--Medium Graphics: 3 pts per edited medium graphic *Minimum size = width + height = 800 pixels total
--Large Graphics: 5 pts per edited large graphic. *Minimum size = width + height = 2000 pixels total
--Video: 2 minutes of edited video (not including bumpers, credits, or intros). Slideshows or still image videos is not allowed.
• We are NOT judging your graphics of worthiness or appropriateness to each genre. Use YOUR best judgement to how much it fits in the genre or not. We will not be judging or deducting points. Just make sure your graphics are labeled with the genre it represents.
