Carl had never had what you'd call a normal upbringing. While other kids had would be playing in the park and being children, Carl was schooled in how to disassemble and reassemble a hand gun under a minute. He achieved this by the age of nine, something that made his dad proud.
His parents believed in the concept of never keeping secrets from anyone that was family. Carl had figured out early on that his parent hadn't had normal jobs before the outbreak. So Carl had clued together that his dad was, The Dean Winchester. The man that died and gone to hell, only to come back and still demon kick ass over and over again. While his mother, Kate Argent was from an almost as equally as famous hunting family, only their focus was werewolves.
He always knew that he would be going into the family business when he grew up, one way or another he was going to be a hunter. The stories his parent would tell him about what they did, the things they hunted and the people they saved were incredible. With two famous parents within the hunting world, Carl craved to make his both of parents proud.
When the outbreak happened; for whatever reason the demons, monsters and angels had retreated from earth, leaving humans to fight for survival against the walkers. Carl and his family had been prepared, they had weapons, food, medical supplies and most of all: experience.
While he wasn't going to get the chance to hunt demons or werewolves, Carl vowed to become the best walker hunter there was.
