Behold the Hand-Scooped Strawberry Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwich, which is apparently being tested at a Carl's Jr in Newport Beach, California. The sandwich appears to be vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two strawberry Pop-Tarts. What does this mean? With the demise of the cupcake, are Americans looking at an era of dessert innovation as restaurants jockey for supreme pastry domination? Or perhaps Carl's Jr. is merely looking to capitalize on the fact that Americans love anything (anything) that comes in sandwich form? Either way, no word on whether this will appear on a Carl's Jr. menu near you, but if you happen to see it in the wild, do let us know.
