Why You Should Watch: Mad Men
The Secrets: There are so many secrets on this show. Everyone has baggage, and everyone's got something to hide. It's how the characters deal with these secrets that fascinate me; who they trust with these sensitive parts of their lives, and why they hide these things.
'60s Culture: The cultural references in this show are fantastic. From The Beatles to Kennedy's assassination to brands and issues of the time, Mad Men does a wonderful job at giving us a glimpse of '60s Life.
The Ladies: In a time where ladies weren't encouraged to be awesome, the ladies on this show continue to show their awesomeness. I've pictured Joan and Peggy here, but one can include so many female characters on the show. Each woman has her own worries, issues, and beliefs, and they aren't afraid to show them. I love Mad Men because well-written, strong female characters are tough to pull off... and this show does.
