TVD’s 4th season starts not so much with a bang but with a “Well, it was better than the season 3 premier.” Elena’s in transition and has an awkward Jessie Spano moment (if you don’t know, google Jessie Spano I’m so excited), an efficient Council member gathers 2/3 of the triangle and would’ve killed them if it wasn’t for a sudden deus ex machina that turned him into the “overzealous religious man who spews cult rhetoric” who blew himself up, Matt’s character gets assassinated, Bonnie destroys her grandmother’s soul, and JAJP has a new segment.
Quotes from the Podcast:
“The pastor was kind of a Klaus-lite. He was knocking women down, taking them out. Three women lost they job as soon as he walked in there.”-Cana
“So after Damon tries to strangle Matt to death, the Sheriff and Matt and Meredith are all like, ‘Yeah get in the car with Damon and drive to the middle of nowhere.’”-Olu
“You have heard me and read me at my highest, at my lowest, at my most hopeful, at my most sympathetic, on the roller-coaster of emotion that this show puts me on regarding Bonnie. What I want for her, what I wish she had, all of that. So excuse me if I no longer care....I don’t care about what happened to Bonnie in this episode. Now it was all nice, all nicely acted, [but] do I feel bad for her? No. It’s her fault. No one’s asking her to do this. I’m not gonna do the “Poor Bonnie, she gets hurt every time; her life is so hard,” no. [.....] She got what she deserved. I’m not gonna be emotionally engaged with Bonnie until she stops doing this, because this is no longer interesting. This is no longer inspiring, watching Bonnie suffer. It’s now commonplace. She lost her mother; she jumped right back into the same situation and now she’s lost her grandmother. This shit doesn’t stick to her! She’s rubber!”
