Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore, The Vampire Diaries): While the romance between Elena (Dobrev) and Stefan (Wesley) has been at the core of the series since the start, EPs Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec have kept the love triangle alive with Damon’s unrequited love for the fair Elena. The scene last fall where Damon finally told her that he loved her was heartbreaking not only because it was one of the few times we saw Damon in a vulnerable state…but also because Damon quickly erased his confession from Elena’s memory. What that moment did was make us love Damon even more and also back up the fact that when he’s really, really bad, it’s all because of his achy breaky heart. Bravo, Somerhalder and his fans.
