Time for the 2nd checkpoint!

Current Word Count: 7,000 or so typed many thousands more to type
What I Like About the Story: Writing it has been a good exercise in consistent long term characterization. I think I have some of the characters in character most of the time, and others that need work.
What I Don’t Like About the Story: Unless a miracle happens in the next two parts necessary before the end of the story I have utterly failed at writing a romance of any kind.
Anything Else: (personal issues that are making it hard to write, need someone to read through what you have and give feedback, need to rant a little?) The good news is that I found a wonderful beta reader who's going to keep me on the straight and narrow writing wise. I'm having problems thinking about how I'm going to end this story without making it feel rushed. It would also be helpful if every time I put Damon and Elena in the same room together in the story I didn't write pages and pages of them bickering without advancing the plot/resolving anything.
