Oz passed behind Willow and kissed her cheek. “Hey.”
“Oz, what if I told you I was going to drop out of college?”
“I’d feel compelled to ask what brought about this sudden change of intellectual heart.”
“You wouldn’t ask me if I was crazy.”
He put the back of his right hand to her forehead.
Willow giggled.
“You don’t feel crazy.”
She batted his hand away. “I’m serious. This school thing is just too much,” she said lying her head on Oz’s shoulder.
“…Parents at another convention.”
“As long as I do what they want, they just… I figure dropping out will get their attention. Maybe. I don’t know.” She cried softly into Oz’s shoulder.
Oz stroked his girlfriend’s hair. “If you want you can come stay with my folks.”
“Oz, you’re hardly ever home.”
“I can be home for you. And my mom loves you.”
Willow sat up and looked at her boyfriend. “She does? We’ve never met.”
“Apparently she’s been waiting for official notice about me and Devon.”
“You and…? Oh. Ooh.”
“She’d love to meet you.”
Impulsively, Willow threw her arms around Oz’s neck. She kissed him. “I get to meet your parents!”
“Um, that too.”
“I have to go tell Buffy!”
“Does this mean you’re not dropping out of college?”
Willow bussed Oz’s cheek as she disentangled herself from the library table. He figured that was answer enough.
