Hahaha, my gaming time is soooo down while at uni. So many ME 1 and 2 DLCs I need to download and play and can't. Damn you brother for wanting to play the Xbox too! D:
But yeah, a big aspect of gaming is the whole escapism element of it - getting away from your boring, stressful life and saving the universe or whatever. I don't think humans as a species will ever stop wanting that escapism - the grass is always greener, and so on - and gaming systems may develop, but I don't think we'll ever be beyond gaming.
I have heard good, but unspecific things about Portal 1 and 2. I think I need to go exercise my Google-fu and find out more :)
Yeah, the ME1 DLCs don't worry me so much, because they don't seem to be necessary to the game in any way, but I'd heard the ME2 ones were to act as bridges between 1 and 2?
I've already played LotSB, which was cool, because hey, Liara (and her ridiculous eyebrows). So Arrival's a no go then? :C
Arrival is supposed to bridge the gap, but you have no choice in the matter as to what happens, also, you become responsible for genocide in it sooooo.... Yeaahhh. Overlord was amazing, Zaeed is great, I enjoyed Kasumi's mission. Firewaker was fuuuun, Hammerhead is the best thing ever after the Mako.
I have Kasumi, but no Zaeed because I got a second-hand copy of ME2 so I didn't get the Cerberus network stuff. So the only DLCs I've done are Kasumi's recruitment and LotSB.
As soon as I get access to the Xbox again, I'll go out and get some Microsoft points to buy the DLCs with :D
Um, my primary Shep, who is a female Vanguard, romanced Liara in the first game, then was a naughty cheater with Garrus. Then I have another Shep who's going to romance Kaidan and be faithful, just cause. And there's another one, ME2 creation only, who romanced Thane. And then there's my celibate Shep.
So, um, I've romanced half the LIs? How about you?

Bwah, I need to write my massive fic that occurs after ME2 in place of what wil canonically happen in ME3. WHY? BECAUSE I CAN. Also because the Me verse needs more Spectres who are on your side, dammit. (Plus I really want Munus to be around, cause he's a nut.)
My teams were usually Garrus and Grunt (If I knew there'd be lots of boom boom involved.) Or Garrus/Tali in ME1 when exploring planets, or Garrus/Wrex, if a big fight was gonna occur.
If I needed a biotic, I preffered Samara usually, Reave is a great move, but Jack's shockwave=joy.
I did appreciate that Garrus yells at the person on Horizon if you bring him, and the person there was your LI. That Turian is awesome and I love him so.

I have a feeling there will be a few fics like that, because with everything they've built up to so far, I highly doubt ME3 will be able to resolve everything in a 100% satisfactory manner.
This please. Even when you meet a Spectre who's not Saren, it's Tela Vasir, who is also quite emphatically not on your side.
I love Grunt. He is my favourite, and was always in my team, while I'd swap out between just about everyone else bar Jacob for the other member, depending on what was required for a particular mission. In ME1 Wrex was my mainstay, or Ashley, with Garrus or Tali being the other partner depending on what was needed.
...I do not think I've actually had Garrus with me on Horizon for that to happen. Next time I do Horizon, he is so there! Yeah, Garrus is one of my favourite squaddies, even if I don't always take him out on missions. But it's always fun to talk with him, or just have him along for random comment factor. Like the one about the elevators :P

I agree, I really want to have fun with Munus anyways, he's not the only Turian whose "Jack Sparrow-esque" in the fandom it seems, but I love the idea so much.
And I want to know more about all the societies and such.
Grunt and Legion are awesome, bet you though they could be trouble in ME3 if you didn't do their missions.
The Horizon thing only works if the person there is the former LI appearantly.

DO NOT get Arrival for ME2, it makes me sad, and not in the "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD YOU TRAVESTY" good way Overlord did.

Haha, the Mako. Oh, fun times, fun times.

(Who did you romance?)

I didn't like Kaidan much, to be honest, though I accidently set off the romance plot with him (then Vermired him >.>)
Liara was cute and all, but it felt like she was more interested in Shepard scientifically then romantically.
In ME2, Jacob was... well... NO. the way he watched shep and the way Shep would stick her boobs out when talking to him made me unconfortable.
Thane was still too in love with his wife.
and I have a shameless fangirl-crush on the Turian anyways.
I really don't see the point in staying faithful to Ash or Kaiden after Horizon, to be honest, is it cheating if they've moved on already?
