Wow. Lots of news.
First off, EVERYONE GET GOOGLETALK. I am "normanpride at gmail dot com" so sign up and talk to me at work. PLEASE. I'M BORED AND LOVE YOU ALL.
Anyway, news. Althea has a job! She got hired on to the Norman Transcript in *Gasp!* Norman, Oklahoma. It's a great starting position for her and she's amazingly happy about it. Go Althea! I'm really happy that she finally got work, because she worked so hard during college and did everything she could to get noticed. It's just hard to find that first job.
She should start this coming Monday, so send out good vibes for her on her first day. I'll try and update you all when I get more info. She'll be reporting on the University a lot, so I imagine she'll get a lot of great political contacts that will help with future jobs. I have no idea where she's going to live, but she's working on that, so no worries...
So, since we're talking about marriage a little bit more now, this brings up a lot of interesting questions. I have no idea what we're going to do, but we'll work it out. I'm just really happy she's got a job now.
OTHER NEWS.
I'm being shipped off to Tallahassee for a few weeks, so that's fun. I'll be there Monday => Thursday and will have Weekends back. I imagine I'll have to drive down to Norman a couple times to see the girl, and the weekend after next is my grandparents' wedding anniversary. I think it might be the 50th, but don't hold me to that. I just know that the ENTIRE family is going to be there to celebrate them. I can't imagine better grandparents.
And that's not taking anything away from my grandmother in San Antonio, either. She did almost as much raising me as my parents did. She's an amazing single mother and I love her to death. I wouldn't change her either.
But back to Florida. I'm going with a few new people, and we're not really sure what we'll be doing, exactly. I just know it's not related to my core area of expertise. Plus, I don't think it'd exactly be kosher if I told the world what we're doing (developing Fusion o_O).
So. I will be online as always... I'll probably turn the home comp off so I won't be on AIM or YIM. Thus the need for you all to
