Must start running! If I even hope to get anywhere in spring track I have to start getting in shape ( Read more... )

well, I was going to knit a pair of socks - but not exactly socks - I can't do anything that complex yet - but like little slippers that go on your feet to keep them warm. The hardest thing i ever knitted were mittens, but they turned out to narrow for my own hands so I gave them to my mother.

Unfortunately i'm not a consistent runner. I run in the summer and fall for xc, and then I take a long break, becuase running by yourself is much harder. This season i reached 22:46 5k, but that's still barely varsity. However, I think that running is such a sport where you don't have to be constantly compared against others, you only measure achievements against your own previous results. Or simply run for enjoyment. I'm not a naturally fast person at all, so i like that running can be non-competitive and individual.
I wasn't particularly good with any game that involves a ball...
The dance was a school thing. We have a dance unit in gym, and we had to invent a dance. We did, and then this one girl from our group asked us to perform it in a senior center for some kind of entartainment night or something. So I agreed, but now we are only left with three people. My friend is just like "improvise, its ok" but that kind of freaks me out, since i never danced before. Hopefully it goes well. The dance is on my facebook wall. We only had a few days to prepare, so there are obvious mistakes.
Do you draw, or other art stuff? I recently traveled to Sweden and saw some beautiful things there, so i decided to draw them, but didn't get much done so far.

Books - well, its aobut time i started broadening my horizons. I started reading "The Black Obelisk" by E.M. Remarque. I like Dickens and classic literature, so my plan involves Russian and English classics. Maybe somehting French, too. I started reading Cyrano de Bergerac in French after I read it in English, but i need the translator for so many words...
Also I want to read more of CS Lewis' more serious literature, like, religious books, and other. Historical non-fiction is also on the list.
I like adventure stories and fiction, too, though. I'm finishing The Complete Works of Sherlock Holmes. It is my dream novel - a combination of adventure and history.
I love history, personally. How about you? I'm most interested in French stuff and french revolution (i'm taking french in school), but also history in genral, esp european 17-19 centuries.

nit too lenghty, i hope.... i have a tendency to rant.

Nope, not to long. :)

I want to knit socks but I'm scared to! I haven't learned how to do so. I want to make like 3 hats then start on a pair of socks. Or at least try to.

That's what I love about running, it's more so a race with yourself rather than a team. It's so hard to run alone, I know that b/c half the time I do. My roommate runs also but she has a 5 year old so when she has her we switch on who watches her and runs. It's so hard though! Plus the breathing the cold air makes it harder too.

That sounds fun! Just have fun with it, that's what it's all about you know?

I can be creative. I have a major in Interior Design/Art. I'm not that big on drawing and I've painted a few things and that was decent but I love designing and decorating mostly. I love to do crafts here and there so if that counts, then yeah.

omg Sweden? That had of been amazingly fun and beautiful!

When it's books. I like most genre's. But I can't seem to get into the classics. I've tried numerous times but I just can't seem to do it. I like all kinds of books. I tend to go to either fiction, non fiction, mystery um I don't know really. I more so pay attention to authors than anything.

I love history but more so in the architecture sense and only certain areas am I interested with and to what those are I'm not even sure on that one.

interior design? cool. I think it takes a lot of confidence, plus taste and skill, of course, to design things, i could never do it.
I'm not really that creative, and i'm scared of constant criticism, so i wouldn't be very successful. It's like you have to know what you like and be able to face any criticism respectfully but confidently...
I'm not really good with that sort of thing.

Yeah, Sweden is nice. Stockholm is the kind of city you just want to live in. I'm not even a city person, but it is a small relatively small city for a capital, some of it resembles my hometown in Russia, so I liked it.

Thanks, I enjoy it but so for fun than for a career plus right now it's more of an luxury field then a need so it's not in high demand. art is all about allowing yourself not to care. if they care then who cares about them, that's how i see it with a lot of things lol

oh i bet! awesome!
