Flippin' channels

I've been watching a whole helluva lot of CNN and other news channels (including Fox News). The newscasters are...well, pretty fucking RIDICULOUS when it comes to covering the "Crisis In the Middle East." For instance, I was watching MSNBC. They had a newscaster interviewing an Israeli woman who lived in Haifa with her son. This was one of the things she actually said:

"So, all the bombs, your son thinks it's cool, that's pretty crazy, I guess, right?"

Kind of like what I would imagine a high school television station sounds like when they report the news. "Um, today, um--Israel attack--was attacked by Leb-o-neez forces...gorillas...they responded with bombs and---today's lunch is peas with meat loaf."

It's also very easy to divide the coverage down party lines (or just left and right). CNN plays the story by making Jews the bad guys--Anderson Cooper has finally shown his true colors in the coverage by saying that Israel should basically give up. Fox News, naturally, is calling for Israel to go ahead and carpet bomb whatever country they see fit, as long as it will bring back the baby Jesus so they can cover that, too. MSNBC is just fucking DUMB. It's like what people who watch Fox News should be watching, because it's dumbed down to headline-readable snippets. Plus, they never have time to cover the entire story, as they are too busy running jail specials night after night after night. Every time I turn on MSNBC after 9pm, it's either "Lockdown: America" or "Lockup: Jail Hell" or "Watch Perverts Enter A House To Fuck A 9 Year-Old."

It's enough to eventually make me turn to the History Channel, where they are inevitably talking about guns or battleships. That, or Showtime, where there's always some boxing going on. Or hell, how about the Sundance channel, which plays movies that remind me why I'm continually more conservative as each day passes.
