I don't do these normally, but a couple of very smart people who I like intrigued me and I wanted to see what they would ask me. So, here's the rules

1) When did you fall in love with music?
I don’t think I fell in love. I think it’s something that has always been.
I’ve always been inclined towards sound since I was little. I was always singing and I grew up with a piano in the house. Mom used to play and sings and dad played clarinet so I was always encouraged to be musical in some fashion. I toyed with clarinet a bit when I was in 4th grade and hated it. Come 6th grade I joined band and wanted to be a percussionist, but lugging the damn drum kit around turned me off. I went with trumpet because it was the only thing I could get a sound out of. The rest as they say….
2) How did you meet your husband?
We meet at Floyd College in Rome. I met his girlfriend at the time first, actually when she knocked on my window commenting about our similar taste in bumper stickers. We became really good friends during the rough spots while Mike and I were splitting and Jason and his Ex were splitting. We came out the other side of it all more than friends and we’ll be celebrating our 8 year anniversary soon.
3) What's the best and worst part about the Renaissance Festival?
The best is that it gives me the chance to do what I really feel is my calling. I LOVE what I do out there and I am constantly learning and perfecting my performance art.
The worst thing is that it eats my schedule. My year has two seasons now. Faire and Not Faire. It’s a perfect 6 month split really. It eats my schedule even more now that I am music director, a main combatant, and on production staff. Triple the rehearsals and meetings/auditions on the Pro Staff side.
4) Which memory from marching band sticks with you the most?
Probably the one I posted on the reunion site about being called to attention at St Petersburg Yacht Club after taking Sweepstakes. We were told to close our eyes and soak up this feeling because we’d never feel it again. I did so. I totally lost myself in that moment and locked that feeling in my memory. He was right. I’ve come close to feeling like that in other areas, but not exactly the same.
5) How is your bird doing?
Both are doing well. Charlie is 14 years old now and shows no signs of slowing down. He still whistles and sings up a storm and loves to show off for people. He is a head skritching whore. Loves the head skritches.
Chamberlain is getting redder by the day and loves to hop down the hallway in the morning to come find us when he wakes up or thinks we should be awake. He loves to knock over Jason’s action figures as well as “help” us with our projects by relocating dremel drill bits, bobbins, and brushes. He also collects things and puts them in our shoes for some reason.
