The first thing Angela notices is how nice the car is. The second thing: how badly his hands are shaking.
Truth be told, she hasn’t been so nervous about a date since her first high school dance. She’s never felt so emotionally invested towards her date. She’s never been so completely unsure about what she wants the outcome to be.
He stammers when he jokingly reminds her to put her seatbelt on. She tries twice before the damn thing clicks. And then she realizes that one of them has to have their head on straight, and lover-boy is obviously not up for the job, so she bats her eyelashes and cracks him a joke.
Then it’s a quick squeeze of his hand and ‘Just drive, Jack. I don’t bite. Much.’
