on Black White, does each icon have to be desaturated, i.e. in black & white? Or is it that they must feature either black or white as their main colors?

The icons should be desaturated, this means the icon can only contain the colors white, black and various shades of grey.

Okay, "blur" can mean that the icons as a whole is blurred or that just part of the icon, e.g. the background, is blurred.

what does "beginnings" mean? (I know the meaning of the word, I just can't see what it's supposed to mean on an icon)
and is "small" the size of the icon or the size of the subject?
thanks :p)

"beginnings" can mean something that happened at the beginning of your show or the start of something, e.g. new job, relationship etc.

"small" is the size of the subject, not of the icon, BUT you could also do it the sense that the subject "feels" small (if that makes any sense to you).

So I've got a picture of a character with a statue of himself. Would that count for the duplicate theme?

Hm, yes, I guess that could count as duplicate.

Am I to assume small means an icon smaller than 100? Or small mean a shorter character.

"small" is supposed to mean that the subject of your icon should be small, but if your show has a shorter character that would also be possible.
