"Come disconnect the dots with me, poppet," the song begins. It’s not yet midnight but it feels like my usual bedtime, which is somewhere around 3:30. Half an hour later I’m out of bed; I’m more awake than I was at dinnertime. A glass of iced tea and I’m on the computer. I have an urge to write something, anything, but I don’t know where to begin.
It’s a good time to start a new journal, I suppose, since I am currently between adventures. Yesterday I finished my first year in college and in a few weeks I am leaving the country for seven months. It’s an exciting time, but I guess that’s a given. I have a thousand things to do before I leave, and all of them relate to deconstructing the world I have been living in. More accurately, they involve taking the dots, and rearranging them.
On foreign shores, I'll be adding new dots to the picture.
