So... an update
Been a while since I updated. I thought I'd play catch up so I can move on to other things.
The Fairlady
Its being typical lady. Consuming lots of time, and consuming lots of money. But I guess in the end its worth it. Sense of achievement and all that ... and an empty wallet =(
Basically the engine is in, and the everything else now needs to be hooked up. Sigh... It'll get there
Anime
So, I woke up one morning a few weeks ago and decided to finish Black Lagoon. I had stopped at about episode 20 something for some reason, and decided I wanted to finish it. So I did. Then for some reason I picked up Gurren Lagann. And finished that in a few days. Then I watched Macross Frontier. No sleep also. I need to stop this.
The ending of Gurren Lagann shitted me to no end. I didn't like it, and while I can see and appreciate the meaning in it, still doesn't mean I like it. Meanwhile, I want to make a Lagann head...
Macross Frontier I was very content about. I'd like to make a ex-gear =D It raises more questions than it answers, but now I wannah watch Macross 7. I just realised I had a handfull of Mac7 OSTs, and am quite contently listening to them. Woo
Laptop
In 2004 I bought my first laptop. It was an IBM T41, and its still running today (except for the shitted battery, for which I am just too lazy/poor to buy a new one). The laptop is otherwise still good, and has worn very well over the years. Except for a couple of back to base repairs under warranty, its been mainly a trouble free experience. When they say they build them like tanks, its no sarcastic comment.
So I finally caved and (with Jacky's assistance) acquired:
* My First laptop bought in 5 years
* My first Apple Mac
* First bit of computer kit bought in the last year
Massive tax write off much? lol. Anyway, its a 15" MacBook Pro with the evil builtin battery. I thought I'd do a side by side unboxing with my IBM I did 5 years ago. I'm sure if you want proper unboxing porn you can look it up yourself.
The boxes are obviously different sizes. There was a lot more crap in the IBM box, which really no longer is needed. That IBM box was good enough to fit a laptop bag right in there also
First impressions are certainly more exciting with the Apple, suppose it shows how much faith the Apple corp. have that their product is idiot proof.
Again, Apple's "less is more" mantra is followed to a T

There is a song Ranka sings a couple of times in Macross and it absolutely got stuck in my head.
Its just so sickenly cute....
