[edited version, 2009]

I have to say I am quite surprised I wrote this, but now that it's done... the truth is that I actually like this fic. ^^ I really haven't been into fanfiction for some time... (which reminds me, there's that one fic I really should try to finally finish.) As usual, inspiration struck around the time I went to bed. And here ( Read more... )

Very interesting. . .you know, this is the second fanfic of yours I've read where I didn't know anything about the original, and not only were both very good but I wasn't confused at all in either case. The one thing I wondered was why Melein didn't ask why, even if she knew she wouldn't get an answer. I assumed it was because the house was dying out, but. . . .

I'll have to find more Cherryh to read. . . .

Hmm... I know. I was thinking about that, and I guess she should have asked, but I was too lazy to change it. ^^; My original thinking was something in the lines that she's used to being a kel, and they aren't supposed to ask questions, simply to obey. Actually, they aren't even supposed to know anything, mostly because they're the ones who go outside and travel with strangers, and the less they know, the less they can possibly spill... There's that word "secretive" in the blurb, and I guess it's a very apt description.

But yes, in the end I guess Melein would be stubborn enough to ask...

Usually when I'm writing this sort of thing I don't have the character ask because I either don't want to write the answer ("Why?" "It would be a pretty boring book if otherwise. . .um. . .I mean. . . .") or don't want to take the time to write the lack of an answer. ^^;;; (laaaaazy)

XD That's the way it goes. Laziness rules also the authors, not just ordinary mortals... ^^

^.^ Pitää ostaa~~~!) on mun suosikit. Tähän mennessä. ^^
