Poor Shindou...that story had to bubble out of him one way or another. I think Touya's reaction to hearing the story--however scrambled by Hikaru's audience--would be a little more uneasy, somehow? But then, if the last line is voiced with an edge of sarcasm, that might carry some of Touya's mixed emotions: "What an *interesting* tale." (In any case, this is supposed to be a light-hearted fic--maybe I'm just craving some AkiHika angst!)
Loved the "uhm, swordplay" and the "I don't think Sai would..." Maybe Shindou will tell Touya the story out of sheer vexation at having been stymied in this first telling!
You're probably right about Touya's reaction. I wasn't really thinking about it that deeply at all, just wrote... things that came to my mind. ^~ Thanks for the comment!
For me, everything that matters is in the last 800 words or so: Hikaru's last resort bedtime story and its real-time tailoring to these raucious kids... and Akira's (rather dead pan) curiosity.
I think Hikaru's landed himself in it by using Sai's real name. I wonder if he will have the energy left to resist Akira's questioning.
Anyway, Thanks for the fic. I hope Nano finished well for you.

Thanks for the comment! And yeah, I got the 50k words. There's still a lot to do with the story, though... it's hardly finished.
