How many of you have got to ride in army's transport boat? That's what I did today. XD It was again the time for my father's working place's anniversary party, and there was a lift arranged for some visitors on a boat like that. As dad had went to the party place directly from work I had to take myself there on my own, and taking that lift was the simplest (and cheapest) way. It was quite an interesting experience, too. ^^ You know, when a boat drives fast it starts pitching (for Finns: the Finnish term appears to be "jyskiä"), in other words, hits the water up and down in the bow. The seats had springs, and at times it was like riding some amusement park machine... ^^ Very much fun.
I've a suggestion. What about we forget all about wars and transporting soldiers, and start using these boats to give rides for kids? They'd love it. I loved it too, the big kid that I am...
...and, by the way, I have a feeling that our new neighbors will soon start thinking I go to party every day... Saturday we had my dad's cousin's 70-years party, and we met the neighbors when we came back from there. And just guess who I saw today when I left for this party? ^^;
Yes.
A couple of pics I took with my cell phone camera...
The "jurmo" boat. There's Uspenski Cathedral on the background, behind that white... cardboard box. Of course they've had to ruin a beautiful view...
A not-so-good pic from the inside:
Nothing to do with the boat or anything, but that "I'm the boss here" seagull was just horrible. Talk about bad attitude...
[EDIT]
Oh, the memories... ^^;
Ylioppilaskirjoitukset. What to call that in English? The Big Bad Exams when high school ends... That picture is from the.. umm, kuullunymmärtäminen... what to call that? "Understanding of spoken language" part of the English exam. I had in school the so-called mid-long English that started on seventh grade. Long English started on third, and short in high school (on tenth, in a way.) Now, I belonged to the last age group that could take this "mid-long" one, after that it was either long or short. But... for some reason we couldn't anymore take the mid-long exam in the end of high scool... so I had to take the long English exam. (You don't do anything with the short one...) Otherwise it went fine, but that pic describes exactly my feelings in that listening part... that didn't go well. I still remember I got only 66 (of 100)... but I still managed to get manga cum laude as I got 92 of the essay. Though it was 4 points short of eximia, which was kind of annoying....
The Finnish text in the pic simply says "I don't understand anything." ^^
