Two drabbles
Just two pretty pointless drabbles, both of which I've written in the morning just after waking up.
Series: Horitsuba
Characters: Fye, Yuui

Notes: .... Not from own experience, not at all. *has a little brother who's cuddly in the mornings too...*
Fye wasn't really surprised to find a cuddling twin brother in his bed when he woke up. Yuui wasn't really a cuddly person normally -- unlike his brother -- but whenever they were alone together he'd do it all the time, half-consciously. He just liked being close to Fye as much as Fye liked being close to him. So Fye put his arms around the sleepy body beside him and hugged him close. His brother smelled of garlic and morning breath and Yuui. He let his face drown in the cloud of light hair, feeling warm and comfortable.
It was five to seven. He groaned at the clock. It wasn't easy to get up when you had an adorable brother sleeping in your arms. but he had to get ready for the class. Sighing, he carefully rose and gently pushed Yuui so he wouldn't fall off. Yuui protested sleepily, only half awake, and Fye placed a soft kiss on his geek, giggling at him. He decided to set the alarm clock to wake Yuui up a little later (he was pretty sure Yuui didn't have morning classes). He was just too cute to wake up.

Yuui woke up at an alien sound that he vaguely recognized as an alarm clock. His hand reached out automatically, trying to find the source of the noise that was disturbing his sleep. He somehow managed to get his hand on it and pulled it in front of his face, fumbling at the buttons for a while until it stopped the awful beeping.
He rose into a sitting position, disoriented and confused about where he was. It was then that he noticed the little piece of paper that someone had put in his right hand.
"Onii-chama has to go to work~
Yuui-chan should remember to brush his teeth!
Onii-chama made breakfast for you too.
(Isn't he the best onii-chama in the world?)
It's on the kitchen table. ♥"
Yuui laughed heartily and obeyed.

Notes: Something like 10-20 years after the series
"My lord."
"Yes?"
"Fye-sama has returned."
Kurogane smiled. "Thank you." He stood up and went inside to welcome his friend who had been away for a long time.
Seeing Fye respectfully on his knees never ceased to amuse him. And somehow the man managed to make fun of all his country's customs without even trying, the playful smile always on his face.
"I'm back, My Lord", Fye said, making the title sound like another nickname.
"Welcome back", Kurogane answered simply. "Report."
"Japan will be allowed to continue trading with the northern islands." The smile widened. Fye didn't need to mention who was to thank for the results of the negotiations.
Kurogane nodded, pleased. "And what did you think of the demon situation of the North?" He had heard rumours but he wanted to hear it from someone whose eyes he could trust.
Fye's face went serious for once. "They need help. I told this to Amaterasu too. She will take action."
Kurogane nodded again and stood up. It was useless to think about that anymore right now. They would have to wait until the army was ready to leave. He would be called up and Fye very probably too. They would have to leave the reconstructed Suwa to the hands of Chun Hyang. He was glad that he had the young woman who he could trust. Otherwise leaving Suwa behind would trouble him too much.
Fye followed him to the garden, and the servants left them alone. The man still looked almost as young as when they first met while Kurogane had grown older. He might never have the chance to see Fye as an old man. Then again there were many things he and Fye would never experience together.
"I'm home, Kuro-sama", said Fye again, his smile happy and peaceful.
"Welcome back", Kurogane repeated too.
A grin. "Did Kuro-sama miss me~?"
Kurogane smiled back.
