[ After a week of trying to keep her head up and hope for the best, Ahiru's spirits had finally diminished to the point that forcing smiles for everyone at the residence she was staying at was becoming very difficult.
She had been naive enough to think that things were changing for the better after the masquerade ball, where her friendship with Fakir was concerned. But it was impossible for her not to notice that he had been pointedly ignoring her for the entire week following that event. And it was finally wearing down on her to the point that she couldn't hide it so well anymore.
After all those nice things he had said and done that night... the redhead was certain that either he regretted it all, or she had done something to upset him. The latter of which she believed to be true, if not both. And she didn't know what to say or do about it. If she demanded to know and fought with him again, that would just make things worse. She didn't like fighting with him.
And now the duck-girl sat out back of Hotel California, feeling more lost than ever as she huddled against the shaded wall of the building with her head bowed.
She would just stay out here for awhile until she could put a convincing smile back on again... ]
