The Basics
Name: Kim
Nickname: Well, technically my full name is Kimberly, but. Yeah, Kim. XD
Age: 22
Gender: F
Personality
Likes: Writing, reading, roleplaying, theatre, animation of all forms, novelty value, video games that don't take too much hand-eye coordination, general geekery. Debating (or maybe just arguing), overanalysis, intelligent people who take a stand on things.
Dislikes: Meanness, closemindedness. People who are judgemental of the choices of others. Prejudice, willful ignorance. The kind of music that talks about grinding in clubs.
Hobbies: Writing, reading, roleplaying, collecting useless trivia. The Internet, constantly.
Talents: I'm a good writer, though my creativity itself could use some work lately. I'm very perceptive, about people and (usually, I hope) myself, and I'm a good listener who helps people in that light. I think fast, which can be a blessing or a curse depending.
Ambitions/Goals: I want to live somewhere where I have access to an urban environment, with my long-time girlfriend, and work as a social worker helping the mentally ill. :)
Strong points: Pretty much copying from another rating comm because I went all-out there and I don't want to forget anything. XD Optimism, kindness, loyalty. Honesty about my emotions, though a tendency to cover up my faults to authority figures. (Weirdly, I don't mind sharing anything with strangers.) Trusting. An unwillingness to sit down and shut up when it's important. Enthusiasm, creativity. Intelligence. A love of discussion, discovery, and new things. Gryffindor-and-Ravenclawism. Making sure my opinions are well-formed and well-argued. Empathy. Good judgement of someone's emotions and psychology. Nonjudgemental of people's choices.
Weak points: Also copying - Laziness and sloppiness. Easy distraction by shiny things. Insecurity in things that aren't already known to be my forte, an assumption people know more than me in those things, but when I'm comfortable with someone I contradict that by taking authority where I shouldn't. Neurotic, sometimes. Impatient, especially when people SHOULD know better. Being overly erudite. Stubbornness, excessively opinionated, a tendency to go on and on about said opinions until I've argued you to death. If I'm comfortable in a situation, I'm usually speaking way too loudly and enthusiastically, and rambling more than a bit. Hard for me to make friends, because my first instinct is to put people into little high school boxes and assume we won't click. Hesitation. Oversharing.
Your personality in 3 words: "Ohmigod, stop THINKING." (Alternately, "Ohmigod, be QUIET.")
Mature/immature: Mature, at least I hope so.
Outgoing/shy: Outgoing
Graceful/clumsy: Oh god clumsy. Or maybe just careless. Bruises are the result, either way.
Optimistic/pessimistic: Optimistic
Leader/follower: Follower, but really if it comes to a project I'd rather do it with people I know well or on my own
Favorite
Color: Indigo
Animal: I am very, very partial to cats lately
Food: Pasta
Scents/smells: Peach. Dusty books. Gasoline, for some reason.
Fairy tale: An obscure Celtic one,
Gold-Tree and Silver-Tree. It ends in polygamy, so it probably doesn't conform to most tastes. XD But it has this beautiful sense of family, that all the heroes are good people not just because they're nice but because they're challenged but do the right thing, and they won't abandon each other.
Princess Tutu character, explain: I love Ahiru and Fakir (yes, me and everyone else, I know). The author in me loves Fakir, and particularly the way we see his journey as a character through the series and understand him as Ahiru understands him. Ahiru herself is just darling, I want to give her the biggest hug. I feel like I fully understand her, admire her strong points and am endeared to her weaker ones, and I like that her happy ending means not being alone and feeling comfortable in her own skin rather than some grand destiny.
Least Favorite
Color: Yellow, I guess
Animal: Actually I don't think there's an animal I dislike. Do insects count? Especially really hairy tarantulas.
Food: Olives. And pickles.
Scents/smells: Aside from the obvious ones that I'll spare you, pickles also don't smell that great. XD And neither does, uhm, bleach I guess.
Fairy tale: Rumplestiltskin. So many warped Aesops in that one that I once saw a whole anthology dedicated to rewriting it. I also always felt so bad for the witch in Rapunzel, especially the version where she dies of a broken heart.
Princess Tutu character, explain: Mytho, not because I have anything against him but because for so long his personality is to have no personality. I can't get into a character that way. XD
Questions
Have you ever taken ballet lessons? How did you find the experience? I haven't. :( I'm way too physically awkward for dance, too, I was terrible at theatre choreography.
If you find out that the only way to save the one you love is to disappear into a flash of light, what would you do? I'd look for a way around it that would still save her, but if there were none (or I didn't have time to think) I'd like to believe I'd be unselfish enough to just do it.
If your life were a fairy tale, which would it be (and why?) I'm going to be cliche and say The Ugly Duckling. Ultimately that's a story about just finding your own niche and your own group of people, which is something I'm always trying to do and thankfully succeeding more and more at.
Picture (optional -- feel free to just describe yourself if you don't have/don't want to post pictures): Thank you for that option, I pretty much never take pictures. XD I'm very short (4'10 - 4'11), overweight but working on it, with shoulder-length layered brown hair with blonde highlights and big brown eyes. I tend to dress casually/comfortably, shirt and jeans mostly.
