I just started cutting and pasting key traits here so you can see how I put it together: "experiencing triumphs of mankind over nature", "history", "useless trivia", "small details", "explanations consisting of "Because I Said So", "sarcasm", "nitpicking", "blindness (legally blind, not completely blind)", "excessive verbosity", "Follower; preferably the Lancer or lieutenant sort", "His attraction and affinity to tragedy is terrible, and it also stirs guilt within me. His outlook on stories is frighteningly similar to some of my older philosophies while writing" -- hmmm...a good number of your traits sound like Fakir, but too many of the traits put together struck me as very Autor. Especially your likes and dislikes, which really distinguish between Autor and Fakir in the part about trivia, details, and excessive verbosity; Fakir is not talkative. XP Nitpickiness strikes me as more of an Autor thing as well. Your speck of light question I think tops it off.
..Now that I think about it, Andre.. You're both fascinated and disgusted with Drosselmeyer and feel guilty because he seems to run through you -- this'd be like Fakir, really, but the dislike of the Raven thing reminded me of Autor's reactions to Rue trying to steal his heart. Your dislikes echo Fakir, but your likes echo Autor's.
This, though -- "It's hard to get Andre to start talking, but impossible to get him to shut up once you do." -- This is totally Autor.
I kept debating between Fakir and Autor, and I can't decide so I'm saying both--buuuut I'm actually leaning towards Autor a bit more than Fakir. Like Tomo, I noticed a lot of things like the nitpicking, the love of useless trivia, verbosity, etc...very very Autor. Also, although I don't think either Fakir or Autor are as optimistic towards the future as you are, Autor's more confident and assured of the outcomes than Fakir is, at least outwardly. I almost didn't vote Autor since some of the stuff was so strongly Fakir--like your empathy with him, and particularly your dislike of Drosselmeyer (honestly, and this is a little silly--I didn't want to offend you with implying that you'd be like Autor and be obsessed with the man)--but the Autor vibe is too strong to ignore, even with some of Fakir's traits in there. ...So, yeah, both of 'em.
