Wow, a bunch of songs came to mind after I finished reading your app. and since at most I can pick two songs, I think I'll go with Waltz of the Flowers and Danse Macabre.
I was kind of torn between Blue Danube and Waltz of the Flowers but the former seemed a little too fanciful, and since you're very much interested in science (which is grounded in facts and testable hypotheses) I thought the flower waltz was more appropriate. You're also a very hopeful and optimistic person, so I think the uplifting spirit of the waltz also really fits.
I also picked Danse Macabre because you mentioned your love for roller costers (unlike me; the last time I went on a roller coster-like ride my friends said I was deathly pale by the time we got off :p). The thrill loving part of you thus reminds me a bit of the edginess of the song. And there's also your love for new and current discoveries. Though that isn't exactly avant-garde, it shows that you are very much in tune with what is new and potentially exciting in the world.
Wow, those songs are almost polar opposites. XD But I notice both are fairly expressive, and I think that's appropriate (I guess I'm not a very reserved person in essence). Another thing is both of them are dances, and I'm not sure what that means but for some reason I think that works too. XD
I guess I'm a little surprised to get Danse Macabre, mainly because I didn't really consider myself a dark person. But I guess I do like that song, so...I'm not that surprised. :) And I guess I'm a bit surprised to get Waltz of the Flowers, since I'm the opposite of carefree like yourself XD;; But I guess, if you take elements from both and put 'em together...I could see this, yeah. ^_^ It's an intriguing mix, to be sure.
Anxious, huh? Well, to me The Story of the Kalender Prince seems to reflect anxiety in its beginnings; quiet, unsure, wise-sounding, then it picks up and gradually becomes louder reflecting your daring side and if an issue comes up or things get emotional (or if my anxiety crops up XP ) though, I might get loud. With friends, I can get quite loud when I’m excited. Many times notably I get loud without meaning to. Then it quiets down again, then starts into a dramatic-sounding stage which sounds like the conflict within you.
...No, I don't know why I decided to listen to Kalender Prince of all things when reading this.
As for your lighter side (nice, cute, optimist) I personally heard The Nutcracker - Miniature Overture, I heard it playing especially so when I read about you being an idealist and an optimist. Especially so with this line: If I find we share an interest, I become a veritable chatterbox. :P, Miniature Overture seems like a little kid to me in comparison to the other songs, thus chatty, cheerful, cutesy
( ... )
Ooh, another pair of very different songs! XD And your reasoning makes a lot of sense to me, too. Yet I hadn't really expected either of these either. Interesting votes!
i think the waltz of the flowers fits you. You described yourself quite thoroughly and you said you have a keen interest in science which fits. I'm a little torn though since the waltz stands for young, carefree, friendly and lively, graceful, outgoing etc. which your description does embody, your more playful and so I get a sort of cutesy-ness from your application which makes me want to describe you as the nutcracker- Miniature overture too... I think your both basically... I hope that makes sense. XD
I'm a bit surprised that I get Waltz of the Flowers, again since it's such a free and untroubled song although I'm so anxious and the opposite of carefree really ^^;; It's also interesting that an interest in science makes you vote for the flower waltz; what about it makes you think so? *curious*
Miniature Overture again too! Yeah, I think I am on the kiddy side, so I'm not surprised when I think about it. :P Although, both of these put together are kinda like Ahiru's two alter-ego themes, which I find interesting to put together as votes ^_^
Oh well I know this is probably really silly, but the entire song gives off a sort of hypothesis-test-hypothesis cycle. After all the notes start gently and it seems the experiment is gathering pace and the variables are being set into place. The faster parts hint at the actual data-collecting and the thrill of finding out if your hypothesis is true and the nerve racking results build momentum with the subtle notes that play in the backround. At the end it's as if all the experiments done, a new fact/law/theory is born and satsifaction can be had. Perhaps I read to much into it XD Your science made me think of it though when I heard it...
Very, VERY difficult decision. A lot of different songs came to mind for me, but in the end, I believe The Story of The Kalendar Prince suits you best. It's a song that has it's quiet moments and it's loud moments, but overall, to me, it sounds like a very intellectual song. It's probably just my interpretation, but to me, it sounds like a song for someone who really loves learning, but it also shows your more daring side at parts. Also, while you seem like a quiet person in general, you have your moments of loudness when the need arises. It also seems like more of an introvert sort of song than an extrovert song, which is what pushed me away from songs like Miniature Overture. While it does fit in that you seem cutesy and cheerful, it's a little over the top, I think.
My second choice is Waltz of the Flowers because that song more emphasizes your cheerful side than Miniature Overture, I think. Miniature Overture seems more child-like, while Waltz of the Flowers feels more sophisticated. Plus you say you're outgoing, and this song

Okay, I'm going to go what seems to be way out there and say, HabaneraI hear this song in a very different way from the way a lot of people hear it I think. (I also think Femio gave this song a bad reputation, as amused by Femio as I am.) It's a very upbeat song and I think that captures some of your optimism, especially with the upbeat sounds
( ... )
I suddenly realized I never responded to this vote, and although it might be too late for anyone to notice I thought I might as well anyway :P
Wow, that's an interesting and thoughtful take on Habanera. Even ignoring the Femio association, I always sensed a vanity or flirtiness from it, and I have never associated those two aspects to myself ^^;; So I was totally not expecting to get that vote, but your explanations are well reasoned. :)
XD Yeah, I do tend to write in longwinded sentences don't I? This one I'm not so spectacularly surprised about, although you're right that it's more on the pessimistic side, which doesn't go with me entirely.
