So I finished my very first college class (ever) and I'm getting ready for the next quarter. As some of you know I'm a high school drop out and got my GED about three years later. I've been thinking about taking college classes for a long time but due to different issues (me being a major procrastinator at the top of the list)I have not done so until now. Because I stay home taking care of Gracie and Tommy I have a very small window in which I can attend classes. I had a job as a case manager for people with developmental disabilities in Buffalo but found that although I got that job with mainly with my experience in that field I could not do so in Washington or California. You need at least a BA in social services. So that's what I'm hoping to accomplish. I was lucky that my first class was human services 101 and got a very good look at social work areas I had not thought about as choices for me. The next class I'm taking is English 101 and it's all about college writing and I'm a bit nervous about it. All the english I've taken has been ESL and I don't know how hard the concepts will be for me. I've been told that reading is a very good for writing skills (if that makes any sense to you) and I do a lot of that, so we'll see.
