As some of you might know, I've been a little under the weather for the last couple of days. Last night after dinner I decided to lay down but felt I was letting my girls down by doing so so I asked Gracie (Alanna was doing something with Alisa) if she wanted to watch TV in our bed While I put my head down. She was all for it. She grabbed her "B" (Some of you have had the pleasure of seeing her gigantic blanket we have to drag everywhere we go) and climbed in bed with me. While searching for something to watch we ran into Star Trek Tng and I thought to myself "wow, she has never watch this" so I told her that this is one of my favorite shows ever which got her even more exited. It was an episode from the first season (I think) where they go to a planet where everyone is half naked are all blond and run everywhere. Anyway she loved it. I got to watch my favorite show for the first time through her eyes and it was amazing. I miss it so much.
This aftertnoon when she got home from school and after doing her homework and piano lesson I told her she could watch a little TV before dinner and guess what she asked to watch. Yep, no Sponge Bob, no cartoon or any crap like that. My girl wanted to watch Star Trek. I almost cried. Shit! Ok, I cried a little bit. We don't have any STTNG dvds so I did a search and will be tapping upcoming episodes on the sci-fi channel.
Another cool thing. I asked her, "remember that big black guy with the ridges on his forehead on the show? He's a Klingon. And this (I pull my shirt up and show her my bicep) is their insignia". You should have seen her face." that is so cool dad!"
I am the coolest dad and I have the coolest daughter. Of course when I say cool I mean a total geek. We all know that, right?....
