9. Death
Nagayan never expected the scene before him. Tuti had always been the kind to never break, not even in the toughest situation. He was always the one to lean on when he needed support; the one who always held his head high even on the toughest nights; always stood strong when times got bad; always the one he could go to when he needed it, but now, it seemed to Nagayan that those days had come to an end.
Tuti was spewing words so quick and mumbled that Nagayan has no idea what was actually being said. The only thing he was able to hold onto was the constant repeating of words relating to “Father” as they were dumped into his chest. Nagayan now knew why he never wondered where Tuti’s father was-he somehow knew it would cause Tuti pain to think about.
Now, he thought, now I’ll let him break down. I’ll let him lean on me. I’ll hold my head high for him. I’ll stand strong for him. I’ll be the one he can go to, because…
