Nelke (and Nagayan) come through again...!
Well, it's a new month, and that means a new Nelke Magazine (the monthly e-magazine sent out by the Nelke Company, with info on upcoming performances--Tuti's comment on Aru Hi was in last month's issue). Included in this issue was a lovely interview between
Q. The four of you were all gathered together for the first time at the recent photoshoot--how was it?
Nagayan: Actually, for me, the only one it was my first time meeting was Tsumura-san, so it didn't really feel like a "first time" thing. Tsumura-san's really easy to talk with, it put me at ease. And with only four actors, it's gonna be really exciting seeing what kind of performance comes out of this.
Nakamura: I've acted a lot with people near my age, so it was like, 'Wow, everyone's an adult...' (haha) I hope to absorb a lot from all my senpai here.
Q. This performance will feature only four actors. In this small-cast work, do you feel nervous about anything?
Nagayan: Everyone will have their own equal, heavy weight, and the mutual cooperation among us all will be essential. The number of lines will also be large, I feel, so I'm sure some misses will happen. I hope to practice while considering how I'll cope at that point. I'm prepared to even memorize everyone's lines.
Nakamura: I'll bet there are a lot of lines. I'm kind of worried about that...
Q. Are you looking forward to anything about this play?
Nagayan: I've always wanted to do a straight play with Tsuchiya, so finally getting to actually do it, I'm really happy. It's our first straight play together, so I'm really looking forward to it.
Nakamura: I'm really excited about all the new things it seems I'll get to experience! Even today, I really learned a lot from Tsumura-san's way of having his photo taken (haha).
Q. Please tell us your goals for this performance.
Nagayan: I've heard that there are a lot of fans who are really looking forward to mine and Tsuchiya's combination, so I want to show all of those people an even greater us than they've seen this far!
Nakamura: I'm going to do my best not to drag down my senpai!
Q. Lastly, please give us your thoughts as you gear up for the performance.
Nagayan: Right now, I haven't actually seen the script yet, so I hope to remember all my lines and be able to speak as myself.
Nakamura: I won't be discouraged! I won't get sick! And I'll always be in high spirits! -- that's it (haha)
