I just got back from the Dir en grey concert at The State Theater/ Fillmore Detroit. I went with my dad and my cousin Jon again. lol, they've gone with me to every concert.
It was great! At first, I wasn't sure how it was gonna go, because I was feeling sick and having ear problems the past few days. Thankfully, I was feeling better by the time of the concert. I still had some hearing problems, but it was so loud, that I didn't notice it. XD
I had balcony seats. I got in the second row on the far right. Yes, it was so I could be on Die's side, lol. :P I love his guitar playing.
I got there about 6:30, and doors opened about 6:45. I wore my bright red shirt with Die on the front. I got a few comments from people who like my shirt. :D I went to the merchandise table first and got a shirt and a Marrow of a Bone CD that came with an autographed postcard.
The Fall of Troy was okay, but I didn't really like them. I was really more paying attention to some guy in the back who was tuning Dir en grey's guitars. He was back there pretty much the whole time. XD
Finally, after setting up, the GDS started. I love GDS, they did it at FVT, but not at IS. It was so awesome! Here's the set list. It's pretty much in order:
GDS
Repetition of Hatred
The Fatal Believer
The Deeper Vileness
Grief
Agitated Screams of Maggots
The Final
Dead Tree
Merciless Cult
Clever Sleazoid
The IIID Empire
Everyone looked really great. I love all of their looks right now. Toshiya finally got rid of his weird wavy blond hair and has it dark and straight. Kyo's hair was pretty much the same, but longer. Die doesn't look too bad with blond hair. It actually looks pretty nice. I perfer the red, but what ever makes him happy is fine by me.
Needless to say, I spent most of my time watching Die. ^^; He head-banged a lot a seemed to get really into it. I love how he sings in ASOM, lol.
Kyo did one capella that went from the end of The Final into the beginning of Dead Tree. It was really pretty and had a lot of echo effects. He fishooked a bit during one song, but he didn't really bleed. I love watching his new form of jumping. It's quite amusing. XD
At one point during The IIID Empire, Toshiya picked his mic up and held it upside down to sing into it, then he threw it.
I did a lot of screaming. I screamed at the beginning and end of every song. XD And I sang a lot. I also did the clapping during Grief. :3
All in all, it was pretty great. I hope everyone had a good time. I know I did. It was way better then the FVT, but not quite as good as IS. I don't think anything can top that. I was really hoping they'd play Ryoujoku no Ame, Conceived Sorrow, or Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tamerai ni Hohoemi, but oh well. I'm just sad that I can't go to the Grand Rapids concert, but it's four hours away. x.x
Good luck to everyone going to their other concerts! :)
