I mean, I used to get offended when people basically implied I was watching the show through my ass, but I got an irl friend into Avatar, and swung over to her house to watch the last five episodes of season two with her.
The finale episode conversation went a little like this:
Me: Omgosh I love this part-
[Katara offers to heal Zuko's scar after yelling at him, then sharing a touching moment over the loss of their mothers.]
Me: She should ~heal~ him. ♥
Friend: But wait, does Aang really have to give up Katara forever?
Me: ...What.
Friend: Aang. DOES HE REALLY HAVE TO GIVE UP KATARA D:?
Me: You're missing this scene. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MOMENT.
Friend: ;-; How saaad. Will he never be able to enter the Avatar state unless he leaves her forever?
Me: You told me not to spoil you, omg.
Friend: WELL DOES HE?!?
Me: No, just long enough to save the day, jesus christ.
Friend: Huh?
Me: He just has to like...leave her alone and save everyone else instead of freaking out about her all the time, idk.
Friend: Oh. Okay. I guess that makes sense. :]
Me: BUT THERE WAS ZUKO THERE. YOU JUST MISSED IT. ARGH. THEY HAD A ~MOMENT~ AND HE WAS BEING A GOOD PERSON!
Friend: O_o Popcorn?
[Aang comes in to "rescue" Katara, then glares at Zuko.]
Me: -___- please.
It's just proof. She was so busy fretting over Aang that she didn't notice Zuko conversing with Katara. I was busy going "damn I love their ~cavemoment~"
I was like I KNOW THIS ISN'T CANON, BUT GODDAMN THIS JUST FLEW OVER YOUR HEAD AS ANYTHING IMPORTANT AT ALL OMG. and I couldn't stop laughing at all her observations:
Friend: Sokka's kind of a pimp, huh? I mean he dated that moon chick, Yue, and now he's like, making out with Suki two weeks later.
Me: Well, he did meet Suki first. And he had mixed feelings, that was that whole scene with the moon in the sky.
Friend: Oh. Yeah.
Me: *eats popcorn*
Friend: He's still kinda a pimp.
Me: Yup.
- LATER -
*she flips through my Avatar Magazine that covers the space between seasons 1 & 2*
Friend: *stops* You mean to tell me that Zuko hooks up with that Emo chick?
Me: *trying not to giggle* You mean Mai?
Friend: Yeah!
Me: Yeah, he does.
Friend: ...They really deserve each other. :|
