When I was a wee reader, I couldn't wait until the day that I would be allowed to read adult books- literature with a number on the NYT Bestseller list and blurbs that touted the books as "FASCINATING.", "THRILLING", and "A NONSTOP ADVENTURE."
Now that I can read these books, I can think of only one thing: Adult Books suck. Not all of them, but a

I wish I could like, lend you my series DVDS. I recently bought myself all three seasons for only like, $110 because it was buy 2 get one free at Barnes and Noble.
WE'LL CONTINUE WITH M.NIGHT SHAMALAMADINGDONG GOT EVERYTHING WRONG AND I HAVE A RANT UNDER THE TAG "SOMEDAY I WILL BE METAQUOTED...SOMEDAY..."
Ask me about how they failed firebending
I love A:TLA. The series is superb, and if you ever get the hankering for A:TLA roleplay I'm on an amazing site and we give newbs confetti. We deviate from Canon in a few ways, but it's still fun.
Urzai is a ship. It's Zuko's mother Ursa/Fire Lord Ozai (his dad).
There's actually like, two major ships in fandom- Kataang (Katara/Aang) and Zutara (Zuko/Katara)
I won't judge you based on which you pick because I can see both, but I lean more towards Zutara which is bigger in Fandom.
BD! YOU SHOULD WATCH AND FANGIRL WITH ME.

Well, if it's any hint, Roger Ebert gave TLA 1/2 stars, which is less than he gave the new Twilight Film.:| ROGER EBERT. xD
There are like, spoilers out up the wazoo now, and honestly, I'm not sneaking in to see it until tomorrow but, I can tell you you'll be confused as hell, because they've taken out huge CHUNKS of plot and characters. Like, one of the most important secondary characters was taken out completely. Others got cut on the editing room floor, even though they were advertised. It's a mess.
Like, characters that come back in seasons 2 and 3 and are IMPORTANT (that were intro'd in season 1) aren't even there. IT'S A DISASTUH.
:P Well, Zuko is a villain of sorts. He's played as the antagonistic anti-hero in season 1, and he actually has the biggest character arc in terms of development and such. (I mean, even the creators admitted they developed him further than Aang in terms of point A to point B xD)
If you watch the first season, there are plenty of hints as to how he became the badguy (like, straight off) and how he's sort of forced into this position. He acts bad, and maybe does bad things, but he's not evil.
I don't slash much, but I know there's always like... Zuko/Aang, Jet/Zuko, Bato/Hakoda...and one other one I can't even tell you its too spoilery. xD
Hakoda being Sokka and Katara's dad, and Bato being his right hand man. Jet is a freedom fighter you meet in season one.
Most of the femmeslash fodder (and there arguably is some) comes season two, though.
AND AS FOR FIREBENDING: To sum it up without spoiling part of season three:
Uncle says in the first two eps that Fire is in the breath. You breathe in and out, and direct your chi (energy) and that energy comes out fire. They're the only element who must create their own element in combat- which can actually be exhausting if you're doing it wrong. You use internal heat/energy (chi) to power fire, as well as emotion or motivation (inner fire).
IT MAKES SENSE IN THE CONTEXT OF LIKE, EVERYTHING, BUT M. NIGHT HAD TO GO AND SCREW THAT UP TOO.
