At 264m, 120 Collins St is Melbourne's highest building.
At 260m, 101 Collins St is Melbourne's second highest building.
So would somebody please explain to me why the Rialto Towers, at a mere 251m, is, and has always been, regarded as Melbourne's highest building? Not to mention how it qualifies for the World Federation of Great Towers.
Architects? Smart people? I'm lost, and need to know this. I spent my childhood being lied to, dammit! I spent my childhood in 101 Collins, and always believed it to be inferior to "the building over the hill", when it most distinctly isn't.
Lots of info to be found
here if anyone actually cares to take up the challenge.
