happy(ier) thoughts
don't know what i'm doing still up at 3.34am but felt like posting an entry to assuage everyone's fears/worries after my emo post haha.
so the first week of the holidays was FANTASTIC :D i'm really glad i decided to go for the straitslaw internship in the end! haha as usual when facing major decisions i wrote out a pros/cons list (i used to think this was quite a common thing to do but yijun's reaction today when i told her seemed to suggest otherwise?) haha anw pros outweighed cons so decided to go for the internship in the end and boy am i glad to have done so :D it was sooo fun finally getting down to doing litigation work and following the lawyers to court (totally owns the 2 weeks in corporate haha)! and i think part of why the experience was so great was because i got attached to this relatively young and super passionate lawyer (albeit slightly egoistic XD) who was really nice and explained everything to me since i was a noob. and i really learnt alot! i truly admire all the litigation lawyers and especially the female ones. i mean, to clock like 15 hours a day and have to face such immense pressures at work and not have enough time for your family and earn less than your corporate peeps, ultimately what keeps you going must really be a pure passion for the profession and people.
my last day of work was really the highlight! treat at brotzeit (the german bar at vivo) was delicious! driving around in an alfa romeo haha. and most importantly yus' admirable talk about how even though he earned less that his corporate friends who worked in firms twice the size of his, at the end of the day he loved his job, he loved his firm, and he was 'happy'. (a word you don't seem to associate with alot of adults ><) and his motivational talk about 'giving yourself a chance'. i think i'll never forget his parting words (: hmm guess this has kinda reaffirmed my faith in myself and all too. so yes one can never be 100% sure about anything but i feel like i have a much clearer sense of what i want to do and where i want to go in the future!
haha so the first step to getting there is to START MUGGING. gosh looking back i realised i really haven't studied hard at all and i guess perhaps it's time to start sigh. andre alerted me to my appalling past revision timetables that day by saying that ANY mugging schedule was 'realistic' compared to my 'history of revision' -.-
ohwell the second week hasn't been very eventful - read my h3 lit texts and attempted to start studying but failed haha. been going out with neighbours and that's always fun :D and of course tons of FORENSIC HEROES II watching! (everyone should watch!) hmm today was class outing which was quite a flop but i'm too tired to care anymore. wallet got stolen at the arcade !@#$%^&12%! sigh i'm going to have to travel all over the island next week trying to replace stuff UGH. ohwell but esplanade rooftop talking was quite nice and just watched sex and the city with yijun/sis/maid! whee girl movies are such fun. haha boo too tired to upload nice photos now so shall do them next time! hmm i'm feeling relatively okay even after everything so thanks to everyone who made my (terrible) day better (:
