i saw a fox on the way home from work on tuesday!
driving down greentree. a wooded residential area that flows into old georgetown
oddly enough, in the middle of rush hour i was the only one on the road when the guy/lady decided to emerge from the thicket and nonchalantly cross right in front of me!
clearly owned the road. at the other side (no woods just development) it got onto the sidewalk and turned right as if it were a human and kept going down the middle of the walk - away from me
  (i had stopped, of course)
and that's when a minivan came into view behind me
i really wanted to turn around and follow it!
i suppose it was dusky (6ish) but it was still broad day light.
what gets me is that they're nocturnal. i suppose it was dusky (6ish) but it was still broad day light.
that and it decided to walk down the side walk as if it was a natural sort of thing for a fox to do... :)

naturally, i've been taking in all 4 pages of what ted andrews has to say about fox. the symbolism and timing is not lost on me.

hey  chimerae ! do you still have that awesome link for animal totems? i lost all my book marks a few months back.

thanks, universe. this opportunity couldn't come at a better time, either. is it august yet?

Energy 101: A Unified Comprehensive Introduction to the Energetic Body

This workshop is the "soft opening" of our workshop before we take it on the road. It is geared to massage therapists but we would also be delighted to have other healing professionals and interested "civilians" attend.

We've encounted way too many people needing an organized introduction to the energetic body to thrive, even the anatomy/science geeks among us (like me!). This 3-day workshop will give you:

* the anatomy and physiology of the energetic body: chakras, meridians, the aura and it's levels, chi, core, etc. and how they interact with the physical body

* energetic body mechanics: as long as you're going to be interacting with an energetic body, how to do it wisely for your own self-care

* pathologies of the energetic body: how the energetic body can get "sick" and contraindications

* nutrition for the energetic body

* ethics and etiquette of working with the energetic body

* the 4 senses of the energetic body and which one is your strongest connection

* what happens when energy fields meet / collide

* recognizing energetic interactions in your work (yes, even for you anatomy geeks) and when you need to respond

* incorporating energy work in your sessions, simply or more intentionally

* recognizing energetic "signals" in your own body

* exercises to strengthen, protect, and clear your own energetic body

* assessing the energetic body (yours and theirs)

* practical (business) aspects of incorporating energy work in your practice, including how to market and talk about energy work

* continuing education for energy work

PLUS tons of practice and exercises. Tons.

Snacks, too. :)
