my ride

Its been a frustrating night. I think someone has hacked in to one of my acounts and I don't know quite what to do about it yet. And my dad is sick please keep him in your prayers. But the thing I'm thankful is that I got to ride today. I rode a horse named Toranado. He was much smaller than Oprah probably around 14.2 or something. He had a very interesting way of moving it was a side to side motion and bouncy almost felt like a trot, but not LOL. I know that made no sense it is hard to describe. So we did the usual being led around the roundpen thing for a few minutes and then going independently with L in the center of the pen. Toranado liked to turn in towards L and did it often. It was challenging to keep him going, but it was a good kind of challenging. L commented that he had a bit of a stubborn streak and I responded that that made us a good match LOL. So, we spent the lesson arguing about staying on the rail and reversing direction. I could usually feel when he was going off the rail if he turned sharply I stopped him before trying to turn him as I've found that helps with my orientation. One thing I found difficult was that he needs the reins to be really long and lose since he was in a hackamore and I know I probably didn't spell that right I'm to lazy to look it up so because of that I wasn't always able to tell what he was doing with his head. L is a very positive instructor. She wants me to ride using my whole body as the instructor i worked with 6 years ago had me do. its been so long since I've needed to turn my head my and my body that its going to take time for that to become easy again. I rode for a little over a half hour. I won't be riding for the next couple weeks, but L said when I ride again she might put me on another horse who is very willing to please though he does need to be ridden 2 handed. Better head for bed. Gotta volunteer in the morning and have a dentist ap in the afternoon.

thankful, riding
