Raphael had taken off back to New York. Michelangelo was a tiny turtle. And Donnie had a feeling Raph wasn't going to be terribly happy with him once he got back from New York and wanted to know a) about the world saving trip, and b) who'd signed him up for which classes ( Read more... )

Marco walked into the room, mostly very wet. "Hey man." He blinked. "You got a pet turtle? That's kind of ... ironic?"

Donnie looked up and sighed, glancing over to make sure Mikey was still struggling amongst the blankets. "That's my brother, actually. His name's Michelangelo, and he usually looks like me, before you ask," he said, sounding somewhat subdued.

Marco figured that bursting out laughing was the wrong response here, no matter how much he wanted to. "Fandom or normal for you?" Straight face, I can keep a straight face, he kept chanting to himself.

"Definitely not normal! And I'm hoping it's just Fandom, because I like being bipedal and having opposable thumbs," Donnie said emphatically, unaware of how amusing Marco apparently found the situation.

Donnie looked at his desk with its humming computer monitors and grinned slightly. "I have dedicated systems for research and compiling code," he explained. "And, really, I sleep better with the sound of electronics around me."

"Remind me to never to introduce you to my dad." Marco said after a pause. "He's this big computer wizz, managed to do discover some bit about z-space travel centuries earlier than would have been expected." He sounded very proud. "What kind of code?"

"That's awesome!" Donnie said, then looked bewildered. "Why wouldn't you introduce us? I'd love to know more about it!"

He had to switch gears to focus on Marco's question, distracted by the possibility of talking to someone with that sort of knowledge. "Ah, several different kinds - usually whatever I need for a given project, but I've written my own source code more than once, if there's no language that fits the parameters."
