Donnie had spent a very quiet day inside, hoping that it would stop being hot and missing very much the cool depths of the sewers.

And then Mikey came by with pizza. He felt a lot better, but it was tempered with caution at whatever Mikey might have put on the pizza.

Jaina came back in from Curupira, pulling her damp hair back into a braid without bothering to tie it off. "Hi," she greeted them.

"Hi!" Donnie waved with the hand that wasn't holding pizza. "How's your evening?"

"Less wet than it should be," she said. "I see you're being much smarter."

[turtle_techie]

"By which, eating pizza or staying inside?" Donnie asked, cocking his head.

[solo_sword]

"Staying inside. I have no idea what pizza is," said the new girl.

[turtle_techie]

Donnie's eyes widened. "Really? That's not right, you should--" He shot a look at the pizza on the table and paused. "...Well, if you want to try it, you're welcome to." He gave Jaina an apologetic look. "Pizza is really awesome and very tasty, but my brother has weird taste in toppings."

"What's weird taste?" she asked cautiously.

[turtle_techie]

"In this case? Butterscotch, a sweet dessert topping, and meatballs, which are as they sound," he said. "Sometimes his topping ideas involve sardines - tiny fish - or things like marshmallows, so this one isn't too bad..."

"I had marshmallows earlier. They were good," she said. Poor thing. So new. "But if it's bad, I'll take your word for it."

[turtle_techie]

"Marshmallows on their own are great," Donnie agreed. "It's more in the mixing inappropriate things... I'm not exactly convinced that he has actual taste buds anymore. If he ever did."

He smiled. "But you should really try pizza sometime. I hear there's a pizza place in town, if you're interested?"

[solo_sword]

"Yeah, definitely," she said. "No point in it being there if you don't try it, right?"

Donnie grinned. "Okay! Ah, since we're going back to the dorms tomorrow, should we set a time now?"

[solo_sword]

"Sure. I'm free all day Wednesday?"

[turtle_techie]

"That works. Should I find you in the dorms or do you want to meet there?"

[solo_sword]

"For now I'll say meet there, because I can't remember my room number at the moment," Jaina said slowly. "I'm gonna have to remember that one quick."

[turtle_techie]

"Probably a good idea," he agreed, smiling sympathetically. "So we can meet there about 5?"
