Donnie had spent a very quiet day inside, hoping that it would stop being hot and missing very much the cool depths of the sewers.

And then Mikey came by with pizza. He felt a lot better, but it was tempered with caution at whatever Mikey might have put on the pizza.

Mikey didn't seem to mind the pizza combination in the least. He figured that the butterscotch did a really good job bringing out the natural sweetness of the beef. Or something.
Mikey had awesome taste in pizza toppings, sssh.
"So, Bro," he said around a mouthful of pizza, "I gotta hand it to you, you did good at that cheer thing, man. I totally owe you one!"

"Seriously?" Donnie had a piece as well - just because it was questionable didn't mean he was any less hungry - and paused with it halfway to his mouth for a bite. "Did you get the spot?"

The grinning and bouncing in place that Mikey was doing was quite possibly all the reply that was necessary.
"Dude, I totally did," he said, adding something vocal just because ... that's what Mikeys do. "And I'm all on the team and stuff and it's awesome."

Donnie grinned and finally took a bite, somehow managing not to wince as he swallowed. "That's great! And no one knows it was me?"

"Dude, nobody even guessed, man. I think they're all just wrapped up in the novelty of having a turtle or something on the squad to care!"
Mikey did more bouncing and reached for another slice. Mmm. Pizza.

"I'm going to go with that being a good thing, since it means we don't get in trouble," Donnie said, grinning still. "So why'd you want to be on the squad so badly anyway?"

Mikey seemed thoroughly pleased with himself, puffing up his chest a little as he spoke.
"Dude, have you seen the chicks on the cheer squad?" He bounced some more. "They're all, like, totally awesome and besides, it's something to do and- man! Who wouldn't want to be on the squad?"

He nodded. "Yeah, they seemed pretty nice," he said slowly. "But I think Raph is going to mock me until the end of time for it, since he was at the tryouts."

He kind of stared for a moment, blinking. "Dude, Raph saw you." Mikey blinked, then broke out into a bit of a grin. "I kinda wish I could have seen you, too, man. That'd have been totally tubular."

Donnie sighed. "Yeah, he saw me," he said. "And was the only one there who knew I wasn't you, despite the detention announcement." He looked sheepishly pleased at his brother, shrugging. "I made sure to be as bouncy as possible, so it wouldn't be suspicious."
