Poem #1 - Goodbyes
Let's begin with the goodbyes.
Look into each others eyes,
Speak those three all important words,
Emotions fly like birds.
A kiss for each to remember,
Until tomorrow - the first day of December.
Love flows like water,
But is left at the alter.
Marriage - followed by fighting,
Screaming -- Scratching -- Biting.
Handcuffs.
He called her bluffs,
She called the cops.
As he hops,
Into the car,
He sees a star.
As the star fades,
He looks to the Queen of Spades.
She is his wife,
She is the love of his life.
He sees now that love,
Escapes as easily as a magician's dove.
