Talk about my muse wanting to bite me in the ass.
So I finally got the courage to try out my Children of Men/Lost vid and WMM was running so slowly that when I preview the two clips (yes, that's right, only two clips) that I had 'faded' together, the preview window showed me the scenes like a cartoon. Still picture by still picture. That was

The low virtual memory happened to be quite true! (Good call, oh wise WMM expert). My computer popped up a window saying that the memory was low and it was updating it ... or whatever it did.
However, as luck (or misfortune, actually) would have it, the extra plug-in that I did download yesterday (desaturation - I figured it's a depressing trailer and that a mellow coloring would add to it) DID slow down WMM. So, I guess I can render the whole thing at the end and maybe desaturate it as a whole.
Also, if you've recently added any new effects or transitions and the problem suddenly popped up, it could be a defect in one of the new plug-ins. *cue Muse's "Plug In Baby"* ;)
So if you didn't read all that, you were right again! Wow, you're good! lol. *dies at the Muse reference!* SQUEE! But according to Muse, "my plug in baby crucifies my enemies." Here, it seems that my plug in baby IS my enemy! Grr...
Anyway, I did manage to get 20 seconds or so done. Hey, it's something! ;) And I'm just glad I opened up WMM and had the courage to splice and paste clips...
Thanks for the encouragement (again!) ♥
