Reckon it must be close to St. John's Day

Oh, my family and I celebrated several feast days. But, um, what exactly is St. John's Day?

Dunno, do I? Forgot.

Reckon it must be a party of some sort, elsewise I probably wouldn't've remembered the name.

It may have been a large celebration of some sort, ja. We do not generally have "parties", but Hanukkah is always fun, I suppose.

What's hanukkah then?

And what's sort-ya?

It is a celebration of light.

Oh, and... ja. Just ja. That means "yes".

... How d'you celebrate light?

Well, traditionally we light one candle a day for eight days to represent how long a lamp burned on a small bit of oil.

... Why not just light a lamp then?

[Because clearly this is the point.]

It would be a bit of a hassle. And a waste of oil.

Sounds strange if you ask me.

[Which, no-one was.]

When is it anyways?

I... am not actually sure. A long time from now, I would assume. I had to guess on the last holiday I celebrated.

Well leastwise you aren't the on'y one who forgets stuff round here. But what do your lot do for summer?

[It's important. Well, mostly Suzy just wants to know. But it's important!]

You mean specifically for the summer? Well, we have a few holidays that tend to take place in the summertime, but they are not about summer.

And I am not sure what the villagers here do for summer. I know they had a lovely celebration for spring, however.

[And then it snowed for like a week]

Do they 'ave good food?

[If they have good food, it doesn't matter what they're celebrating.]

An' I was here for the spring to-do. Reckon I might ask some o' the village kids about summer though.
