This weekend in the woods in Vermont there was ice where the creek usually is. I bushwhacked up hills and down, through the snow. That sounds way more romantic than it was. There were low-down trees everywhere and my long green scarf kept getting caught in their

I kept on thinking I saw trolls but didn't want to tell you because it wouldn't have helped the situation any. I'd see this brown thing move behind trees and then hold itself very still. It could have been a deer, but it still could have been a troll or at least some sort of dwarf.
That part about the grimms fairy tale thing is really funny though. I google imaged and this one summed up emerging from the woods:

I wish you had told me about the deer/troll. It'd be neat if we had gotten quiet and seen what wildlife appeared in the woods.
