Thank you, @turlough, for the parcel that arrived. I haven't opened the present inside, but will put it under the tree when I put it up ♥
Which won't be until the weekend now, as the tumbler repairman had to get parts and can't do the repair until Friday. So, the place is still in a mini, cluttered mess with stuff that is normally stored away.
I'm usually reluctant to pick up calls from unknown numbers, but did today, and was glad I did. Turns out, I'd nominated Consett Cats -- the rescue where we got Murphy and Kevin -- for a twelve good deeds of Christmas thing on Facebook, and my entry was one of the ones picked. The rescue will be getting £100 and some shopping vouchers, which is fantastic. Especially so as normally, I'd send them donations every now and then, but haven't been able to do so as regularly recently.
James had a physio appointment at the hospital today, and it went really well. We managed to actually find a parking spot, admittedly, as far away from the physio gym as it was possible to get. But silver lining, got a good walk due to that. The therapist is really pleased with how he's healing, and has given exercises to help flexibility and has told him to leave the brace off in the house at all times, only wearing it for security when he starts driving long distance again or going to busy places.
They've agreed aiming for Feb to go back to work is realistic, and will start to focus on building up strength from an appointment the first week of January, as right now there's still a bit of swelling to get rid of. So, a good result all round.
Weight management class was about protein on Monday
I knew the basics about protein, but it was good to go into more depth about the subject. To change things up a bit, Rosie had brought in some food, and we had to guess the protein amounts each food contained. Turns out, eggs are pretty much the perfect protein source, that is if you like them, I guess -- with all sorts of other goodness contained in them. But veggies also contain a small amount of protein, so it all adds up.
The exercise part of things was based on The Twelve Days of Christmas, and was designed for people to do at home with no equipment. So, squats, wall sits, chair planks, stretches, calf raises etc. There were 12 stations and as only four people had turned up for class, it meant a lot of individual Rosie attention and no hiding away. She made sure my reverse lunge form was perfect, and omg, that remains so difficult.
No battle ropes or aerobic step this week, but it was a fast circuit with lots of stations. And Rosie was a lying liar that lies as she'd said we'd have just enough time to do one round, and actually ended up at two. The mind games, she's a master at them.
I've an appointment for my B12 injection tomorrow, at 8:45, what was past!me thinking making it that early? Then we're going to the outlet shopping place again, as my MiL saw some things she liked, which we obviously couldn't buy when she was there. Also, James has a £5 birthday gift voucher from Lindt burning a hole in his inbox. I think we'll also check out the new Tesco that's at the end of our estate as it opens in the morning.
Some of you will remember me posting about the constant thud of the pile driving as they were building it, and now everything is completely finished. It's an extra, so is huge, and everything looks so shiny and new. I don't know if it'll be my new regular shopping place, but I can't say it won't be the most convenient, as it's literally a five-minute walk away.
