Yesterday was national kissing day, and I was talking about how it would have been a good excuse for a kiss meme, and how it seemed those kind of themed memes seemed to have died out a little

The night is warm. It is the kind of night that is reminiscent of mid summer - the air hot and heavy - but summer is drawing to an end. It's almost over, but if Pete closes his eyes, he can still pretend that they have miles to go. That they have time.
"Don't do that."
Pete turns his head as he hears a voice that he knows well. One that he has already begun to miss. "Don't do what?"
Mikey sighs and pulls himself up on the concrete wall to sit next to Pete. His legs are longer, nearly scraping the ground as he settles. "Don't think so much."
Pete laughs. "Can't turn it off, Mikey Way," he says. "I can't pretend that I'm okay when you leave me tomorrow."
He doesn't need to turn to see MIkey's frown, but he does - he wants to soak up anything Mikey has to offer him. "I'm not leaving you," Mikey protests. "The tour is just done. This isn't the end of anything."
"Isn't it?"
Mikey sighs, but he doesn't disagree. The summer was a blur of too many emotions - too many stolen glances and kisses and moans - but now it's over. Summer doesn't last forever, and Pete knows this like a kid dreading the first day of school.
Mikey doesn't say anything. There isn't really anything he can say, but when he leans over and presses him mouth to Pete's, Pete opens up immediately. He chases the taste of Mikey, lets his hand fall against the sharp angles of his face - of his body - and tries not to think about how already that hot summer air is starting to feel cooler.
