Had my "mid-year/90-day review" this morning...who knew I'd be on "probation" when I was still considered an employee when I returned in Nov. Wouldn't have thought that I'd be on probation ... and after already giving two years to them. Regardless, got a good review with a couple above standards and superiors.
And now I'll be able to be moved up to a regular employee and learn new stuff like reporting. Ooooooooo. Whodathunkit.
And the weather. Good freakin' crap people, it's just snow. Almost every school and some businesses are closed, yet not colleges/universities. Go figure. There was only 2" on the ground this morning, tons of accidents, it's still snowing and they are calling for a changeover to sleet/freezing rain, then back over to snow. Now, I don't mind just snow, but a layer of ice isn't my idea of fun. But I can deal with it. People here I swear lose all sense when they see a snowflake. They were salting the roads last night before it did a single thing. Supposedly something about the salt making contact with the pavement, yadda yadda. Get a mix of salt and sand like NY does. Last week when it was less "severe", they spent $360,000 cleaning it up. Yet, of the three plows I saw this morning, one had it's blade down.
They closed the government offices here for cryin' out loud. So dad is home and we had to slug to work. Little kids 5 counties around didn't have to go to school where they stay inside all day, but college kids -- sorry, you'll have to trudge through the snow to class. Well, until a few minutes ago anyway...they finally made the decision to cancel classes at Noon. The jury is still out whether staff will get out then or soon after though. If the kids are gonna get stuff canceled, so should the rest of campus. Even if they don't, we're all out of here at 3pm because direct boss said we could cuz that's when he's leaving. LOL
