sunday_reveries "there are days where the pieces don't fit"

It's the first time in a long while where she was starting to feel like things were settled.  Sure, there were still a lot of questions hanging in the air but when wasn't that the case?  There was always some sort of issue and she couldn't see that changing but at least they were all getting good at rolling with the punches.

This is what catches her off guard as it comes out of nowhere.

One second she's turning a corner down an alley and the next she is flying from a hard arm landing across her chest.  She grunted as she hit the ground, pain slicing up her spine as she laid on her back dazed and winded.    She swallowed, trying to see past the stars and then the dark figure that slowly spread over her like a shadow.

"Should watch where you're going, sweetheart."  The rough chuckle sent a chill over her body as she looked up at the figure that stood over her now.

"You."  She curled her fingers into fists as she looked up at the sneering smile that cut through the strong, grizzly features.

"Me."  Sabretooth continued to grin as he slowly reached down, curling thick fingers around the front of her shirt before hauling her up like she weighed nothing to him which she could imagine she didn't.  She was a feather compared to him.  "Did you miss me?"

"Oh yeah, I missed you terribly so."  She narrowed her eyes slowly at him as her eyes started to change, a light purple haze seeming to glow forth from the depths as she brought one hand up from her side.  But before she could focus, he swung her to the side and broke her concentration by slamming her into a brick wall.  It winded her, making her almost sick as her head cracked off the wall and she lost focus while the glow disappeared.

"Now now, we’re having none of your games."  Sabretooth making a slight tsking noise while shaking his head.

"What do you want?"  Krissie asked, curling a hand around his wrist as she dangled there in front of him, pressed to the wall by one massive hand.

"I got someone who wants to meet you."  He continued to smile at her.

"Not interested."  She brought her legs up, kicking at his chest as she pushed her thumbnail into his wrist all while twisting.  She felt her shirt tear, revealing a tight tank top underneath as she dropped to the ground with a grunt.  She smacked her elbow off the ground, wincing before she scrambled to the side as he swiped at her with a growl.

She flipped onto her back then, her eyes and hands emitting the same glow as she brought her hands up in a loud clap in front of her.  Rubble from a nearby pile hit him them, pelting him and causing him to throw his arms up in surprise as he tried to turn away from her attack.  Krissie wasn't going to let it go though, he had attacked her and honestly, she had a score to settle with him.  Until a few weeks ago, she had thought Wolverine had killed her father but she had learned otherwise.

Climbing partially to one knee, she brought her hands up as she pulled at the earth beneath them.  The cement and ground rose up, twisting like a tornado around him to create a standing tomb as she closed it around him with a snarl.  "You killed my father."  And she had every intention of returning the favor in a way though she was aiming to kill him instead of his dad.

"No, I didn't."  Sabretooth panted as his voice breathless from the pressure around him as she made the stone build up.  What he said caused a slight hesitation, a slight pause and that was all he needed as he smirked.

"What do you mean?"  She asked, confusion distracting her.

"Look for yourself."  Sabretooth smirked while his gaze flickered behind her.

Krissie barely had time to turn around before another hard punch caught her across the chest, sending her flying further than before.  She hit the ground in a rolling tumble, wincing as she finally stopped against the wall at the far end of the alley.   As she looked up, she saw another form walking towards her.  A form in yellowish armor and a mask that shielded most of his features but she still recognized them.  "Dad?"  She squeaked, a sort of shocked pain drilling into her chest.

He looked at her blankly, his head tilting to the side before he brought up glowing hands to grab for her but she didn't give him the chance.  Instead she swung a hand up, his hands crashing into a wall of rock that she formed in front of her.  As she scrambled to her feet, she made the wall bigger as she heard him hitting it to try and get to her but she didn't give him the chance.

Aching and breathless, she ran from the alley with the hope they wouldn't find her.  She had no idea what was going on yet but she had seen it with her own two eyes.  Her dad was alive and he had attacked her.

Things had definitely just gotten more complicated.
